- Q. What are the system requirements for using this service?
- A. We recommend the following operating environments for using the service.

- Q. Voice input doesn't work on my smartphone/tablet.

※If you are using another browser, please refer to the relevant instructions.
- The location of the built-in microphone differs depending on the device model. Verify the location by referring to the device's user manual and speak close to it.
- Make sure that you are using the microphone button properly. First, tap the microphone button. After it turns green, speak to the device. Tap the button again after you have finished speaking.
- If you are using the service on a browser and voice input still doesn't work, refresh the browser and try again (check the browser's website if you need more details on how to refresh it).
- If voice input still doesn't work, tap the [A] button on the right of the microphone button to switch to text input mode. You will be able to type a message and send it.
- Q. How can I use Favorites?
- Saving words and sentences ("phrases") to the Favorites menu allows you to communicate faster. You can also sort your Favorites into categories.
(1) Adding elements
- Tap [Favorites] on the top bar of the chat room. The Favorites page will open.
- Tap [Add to Favorites]. The input screen will open.
- Enter text in the input field, then select a category from the [Select category] field.
* If no category has been added, you can only select "Category" by default. The category name "Category" can be later renamed as you like. (Renaming categories is done through the [Add/Edit categories] button.)
- Tap [Add] to save your phrase. It will appear in the phrase list.
(2) Translating elements
- Tap [Favorites] on the top bar of the chat room. The Favorites page will open.
- Tap the Send (circular arrow) button below a phrase to send it for translation.
(3) Editing/Deleting elements
- Tap [Favorites] on the top bar of the chat room. The Favorites page will open.
- Tap the Edit (pencil) button below a phrase to edit it. Tap the Delete (recycle bin) button to delete it.
(4) Adding categories
- Tap [Favorites] on the top bar of the chat room. The Favorites page will open.
- Tap [Add/Edit categories]. The page for adding/editing categories will open.
- Enter a category name in the input field under [Add categories].
- Tap [Add] to save the category. It will appear in the phrase list.
(5) Editing/Deleting categories
- Tap [Favorites] on the top bar of the chat room. The Favorites page will open.
- Tap [Add/Edit categories]. The page for adding/editing categories will open.
- Select a category in the [Select category] field under "Edit categories" or "Delete categories" to edit or delete the category.
* At least one category must exist. You cannot delete a category if there are no other categories.
(6) Changing the position of phrases within the category
You can change the position of phrases within the category by using the three-dot button to the left of each phrase. Press and hold the button and drag the phrase up or down.
* You cannot move phrases over to another category by using that same button. To change phrase categories, tap the Edit (pencil) button below the phrase, select the category in the [Select category] field, then tap [Save].
(7) Sorting categories
You cannot change the position of categories by dragging them. Category names are sorted alphabetically.
For example: If you would like to have the categories "Business", "Shopping" and "Sightseeing" in this order, you could name them "1 Business", "2 Shopping" and "3 Sightseeing".
(8) Moving phrases to a different category
Tap the Edit (pencil) button below the phrase, select the category in the [Select category] field, then tap [Save].
- Q. What to do if I want multiple people to join the same chat room?
- A. Please tap "QR code" on the upper bar and the chat room QR code will be displayed. Please have the other people scan the QR code to enter the chat room.
- Q. Can I replay the sound of the translated text?
- A. If you want to replay the sound of the translated text, please tap the message balloon.
- Q. What to do if I want to delete conversation history?
- A. Tap "Leave conversation" on the upper left corner and then tap "Delete conversation".
- Q. Can I use the service outside Japan?
- A. Yes, you can use the service everywhere.
However, internet connection is required to use the service. We recommend using WiFi connection.
- Q. Can I use the service offline?
- A. The service cannot be used offline.
